Canmore Main Street

This was my most favourite part of visiting Alberta, the best area to walk around, surrounded by mountains and fresh air

Cute cute town, near Banff Natl Park. Accommodations were much more reasonable than being IN the park. Lots of great restaurants & shoppes. Will stay here next time I visit Banff (check out Airbnb condos).

My Mum & I started going to Canmore about 25 yrs ago, for weekend holidays. Mum likes it better because it's not as busy as Banff, but is still a town in the mountains. I like shopping in the stores along Main Street, but do miss the lower-priced $ stores.

Lots of nice gift shops, highlights are the candy store, the ice cream shop (summer only), and the Tin Box. Also love the game store, Armadillo games, if that's your thing.

A place unlike any other. I was seriously considering moving there...that was until Trudoh took all the jobs away. But surrounded by the mountains, it's one of the most beautiful places i've been.
